NEW COMMIT: The University of Notre Dame has officially begun their Class of 2026 recruiting push after receiving a verbal commitment from Tate Bacon of Wake Forest, N.C.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I couldn’t be more humbled and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the university of Notre Dame!! I would like to thank all of my coaches, teammates, friends, and family. I couldn’t have done it without you all! Go Irish!!”

Bacon does his club swimming with Marlins of Raleigh and owns three Junior National cuts with the U.S. Open standard in the 200 back. He most recently notched eight lifetime bests at the TAC Titans August Invitational after earning silver in the 200 back and bronze in the 100 back at North Carolina Seniors in February.

Last summer, he sprinted to 19th place in the 100m free at North Carolina LCM Seniors before going on to earn three best times at Greensboro Futures.
