Notre Dame Adds Verbal from Futures A-Finalist Dillon Edge to Class of 2026

NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Dillon Edge of Beavercreek, Ohio has announced his college decision: he will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall of 2022.

He will join Jack Anderson and Tate Bacon as a member of the Fighting Irish’s Class of 2026.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame. I will get the opportunity to continue my academic and athletic career while attending this storied institution. Being able to compete with this team is a dream come true. The team is very close and welcoming and the coaching staff has been extremely helpful, they made the recruitment process enjoyable. I am looking forward to my time there. Go Irish!”

Edge, who does his club swimming with Dayton Raiders, placed 19th in the 100 breast at Juniors East in December where he earned four lifetime bests. In summer 2019, he placed fifth in the 200m IM at Ohio LCM Seniors before going on to take seventh in that event as well as ninth in the 200m breast at Geneva Futures.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 56.79
  • 200 breast – 2:01.96
  • 200 IM – 1:50.76
  • 400 IM – 3:59.41
  • 100 fly – 51.20
  • 200 fly – 1:51.01
  • 100 free – 46.49
  • 200 free – 1:39.73

Also competing for Beavercreek High School, Edge finished fifth in the 100 breast at the Ohio DII State Championships during his sophomore season. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was the 200 free runner-up and collected bronze in the 100 breast at the OHSAA Southwest District meet the week prior as well.

Under head coach Michael Litzinger, the Fighting Irish finished sixth at the 2020 ACC Championships.
