Northwestern Wildcats Secure Verbal Commitment from Seoul’s Emily Park

NEW COMMIT: Northwestern University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Emily Park of Seoul, South Korea.

She will join Justine MurdockKenisha GuptaEmily Trieschmann, and Ashley Strouse in Evanston, Ill. as members of the Wildcats’ class of 2025.

In LCM, her best times include:

  • 200m IM – 2:19.45
  • 400m IM – 5:04.51
  • 100m fly – 1:02.18
  • 100m back – 1:04.31
  • 50m free – 26.74

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 200 IM – 2:02.29
  • 400 IM – 4:26.75
  • 100 fly – 55.15
  • 100 back – 56.14
  • 50 free – 23.55

A versatile swimmer, Park swims with Seoul Foreign School. She most recently picked up a best time in the 200m IM at a time trial in July and finaled in two events at the KAIAC Championships in April 2019.

Northwestern will be guided under the leadership of newly-appointed head coach Katie Robinson. The Wildcats finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 Big Ten Championships.
