Northern Colorado Women, Wyoming Men Lead at WACs
SAN ANTONIO – The first night of the WAC Swimming & Diving Championships kicked off with some fast swimming and top performances on both boards with the Northern Colorado women and Wyoming men leading the team races.
The Grand Canyon women and UNLV men held on to their 2014 200 medley relay titles to start the first finals session of the meet.
On the women’s 1 meter, Northern Colorado’s Savanna Meadows made her first appearance in the WAC finals to eventually win the event with a score of 282.10.
The UNLV men claimed their second win of the night in the 800 free relay along with the Bakersfield women who also won the event at last year’s championship.
On the men’s 3 meter, Wyoming’s Jacob Rehmeier made a comeback after finishing third last year, winning the event with a score of 324.75.
Northern Colorado leads the women’s teams’ rankings and Wyoming leads the men after the first night.
Thursday’s prelims start at 10:30 a.m. CT with the men’s 1 meter and the 500 freestyle.
