Northeastern Opens Class of 2026 Recruiting with Verbal from Sprinter Kotoko Blair
NEW COMMIT: Northeastern University has officially begun their Class of 2026 recruiting after earning a verbal commitment from Futures qualifier Kotoko Blair of Novi, Mich.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Northeastern University! I knew this program would be perfect for me from the very beginning of this recruiting process. Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me all this way and getting me to where I am now. Go Huskies!!❤️?”
A talented sprint freestyler, Blair does her club swimming with Novi Sturgeons and grabbed bronze in both the 50 free and 100 free at the Michigan Open in March 2019 before going on to record a best time at NCSAs. In Summer 2019, she placed third in the 50m/100m free and raced four events at NCSAs.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.62
- 100 free – 51.64
- 200 free – 1:55.02
Also competing for Novi High School, Blair is a four-time individual Michigan DI State Championship finalist. She placed third in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free as a sophomore while taking 10th and 11th, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
Blair will add valuable depth both individually and on relays for the Huskies, who are bringing in a large and talented class in the fall of 2021. Northeastern finished seventh overall in the team standings at the 2020 CAA Championships under head coach Roy Coates.
