Northeastern Opens Class of 2025 Recruiting with Verbals from Devon Muldoon, Stella Urness
NEW COMMITS: Northeastern University has officially opened up their class of 2025 recruiting with a pair of verbal commitments from Montclair, N.J. native Devon Muldoon and Stella Urness of Delray Beach, Fla.
Devon Muldoon
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Northeastern University! I chose Northeastern because of its exceptional academic and athletic programs. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for supporting me along the way. Go Huskies!”
A talented backstroker and freestyler, Muldoon does her club swimming with Cougar Aquatic Team and earned a best time at the TYR Winterfest meet in January. This past summer, she placed eighth in the 200m back at Geneva Futures where she notched four lifetime bests. A current junior at Montclair High School, the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American took eighth in the 200 IM at the 2020 New Jersey Meet of Champions.
Her best times include:
- 100 back – 57.55
- 200 back – 2:02.48
- 200 IM – 2:05.61
- 200 free – 1:54.08
- 500 free – 4:58.59
Stella Urness
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my commitment to further my athletic and academic career at Northeastern University. I chose Northeastern because I believe the coaches really care about their swimmers success in and out of the water. Go huskies!”
A versatile swimmer, Urness swims year-round with Saint Andrew’s Swimming and most recently had four top-8 finishes at the Speedo Winter Championships in December. She was the 50m breast runner-up at Florida Gold Coast LCM Seniors last summer before going on to earn a best time at NCSAs. Also competing for Saint Andrew’s School, she finished 10th in the 50 free and 15th in the 100 breast at the Florida 1A State Championships this past fall.

- 100 free – 52.29
- 50 breast – 30.57
- 100 breast – 1:05.19
- 200 IM – 2:08.38
