North Hills’ Josh Bogniard Will Become a Buckeye, Selects Ohio State for 2021
NEW COMMIT: The Ohio State University has scored a new verbal commitment for their growing class of 2025 from Josh Bogniard of Pittsburgh, Pa.
He will arrive in Columbus at the start of the 2021-22 season along with Ohio natives Karl Helmuth and Luke Paxton.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am incredibly excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at The Ohio State University. I would like to thank my parents, coaches, and teammates who helped me get to this point. Let’s go bucks!!”
Primarily a sprint backstroker and freestyler, Bogniard does his club swimming with North Hills Aquatics and earned bronze in the 100 free at the TPIT Annual Christmas Invitational. Last summer, he earned two best times at Geneva Futures after placing 13th in the 100m free at the TPIT Junior Olympics.
His best times include:
- 50 back – 23.83
- 100 back – 50.95
- 50 free – 21.32
- 100 free – 46.34
A rising senior at North Hills High School, Bogniard finished 19th in the 100 free and 20th in the 100 back as a junior at the Pennsylvania 3A State Championships. He was the runner-up in both of those events at the WPIAL 3A Championships in 2020 while placing sixth in the 100 back and 13th in the 50 free during his sophomore season.
