North Dakota State Record Holder Lexi Duchsherer Verbally Commits to Arizona for 2021
NEW COMMIT: The University of Arizona has recently received a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Bismark, N.D. sprinter Alexis “Lexi” Duchsherer.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“Excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University Of Arizona in the fall of 2021❤️? Bear Down ?⬇️”
Duchsherer, who owns a pair of Junior National standards, does her club swimming with AquaStorm and finished 21st in the 50 free at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she earned 100% best times at Minneapolis Sectionals before going on to raced two events at Junior Nationals.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 22.91
- 100 free – 50.11
- 50m free – 26.46
- 100m free – 58.03
Also competing for Century High School, Duchsherer is a six-time North Dakota State Championship finalist and broke the state record in the 50 free in 2018 and then again in 2019. She also owns the state record as part of the 4×50 free relay.
She won the 50/100 free combo during both her sophomore and junior seasons and earned gold in the 50 free and silver in the 100 free during her rookie campaign. Duchsherer led her team to their fifth-straight, and ninth overall, team title in 2019.
