North Carolina Tar Heels Add Verbals from Aidan Crisci, Sami Moussally to Class of 2025

NEW COMMITS: The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill has received a pair of verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Aidan Crisci of Williamsburg, Va. and Glenview, Ill. native Sami Moussally.

Both swimmers will join Dylan CittaNick RadkovJay BakerWalker Davis, and Ryan Silver as members of the Tar Heels’ class of 2025.

AIDAN CRISCI

A talented distance freestyler and IMer, Crisci does his club swimming with Coast Guard Blue Dolphins and is a Junior National qualifier. He most recently earned seven best times at Virginia Seniors in March where he registered four top-5 finishes. Last summer, he notched 100% lifetime bests at Virginia LCM Seniors.

His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:32.88
  • 1000 free – 9:20.72
  • 1650 free – 15:31.37
  • 200 IM – 1:54.10
  • 400 IM – 3:56.36

Also competing for Lafayette High School, Crisci is a five-time Virginia State Championship finalist. He was the runner-up in both the 200 IM and 500 free as a junior at the Class 3 meet while taking seventh and eighth, respectively, in those events at the Class 4 meet during his sophomore season.

SAMI MOUSSALLY

Also a freestyler and IMer, Moussally swims year-round with Glenbrook Swim Club and last competed at Illinois Seniors where he took sixth in the 200 IM. He raced to seventh in the 200m free at Illinois LCM Seniors last long course season before going on to take 20th in that event at NCSAs.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 21.08
  • 100 free – 46.49
  • 200 free – 1:39.45
  • 500 free – 4:33.51
  • 200 IM – 1:51.96

A rising senior at Glenbrook South High School, Moussally is a four-time Illinois State Championship finalist. He finished eighth in the 500 free and 11th in the 200 free during his junior campaign while taking sixth and fifth, respectively, in those races as a sophomore.
