Noè Ponti Returns After 100 Fly Prelims Rankings Rattler To Post 50.37 At The Swiss Championships
Noè Ponti returned after rattling the all-time 100 fly rankings to claim the national title in 50.37 at the 2024 Swiss Championships in Uster.
The Olympic bronze medallist went sixth all-time in 50.16 in prelims, 0.71 outside Caeleb Dressel’s world record of 49.45, in the 18th-fastest performance in history.
He came back in the evening to split 23.64/26.73 for the second-fastest time of his career as he continues a rich vein of form as the Olympic countdown continues.
Josef Miladinov was the only man within 3secs of Ponti, clocking 52.89 for second.
Julia Ullmann was the only swimmer inside a minute to win the women’s race in 59.67.

Ponti has already qualified for Paris 2024 as has Roman Mityukov who went 1:55.60 for victory in the 200 back with Fanny Borer winning the women’s race in 2:14.06.
Jeremy Desplanches is still seeking Olympic qualification and will now head to the European Championships in Belgrade after going 2:00.00 in the 200IM in which he won bronze in Tokyo three years ago.
Lisa Mamie, also still seeking Paris qualification, won the non-Olympic 50 breast in 31.67.
