NEW COMMIT: IMer Caroline Theil has given Texas A&M a second verbal commitment in two days. The Lincoln, Nebraska native has given her verbal commitment to the Aggies. She’ll join Washington’s Emma Carlton.

Theil swims for Greater Nebraska Swim Team and will be a senior at Lincoln Pius X this year. At the 2017 Nebraska High School state championships Theil won the 200 IM (2:01.63) and was runner up in the 100 fly (55.45).

Her best times are:

  • 200 IM 2:00.79
  • 400 IM 4:17.37
  • 100 Back 56.90
  • 200 Back 2:02.35

The Aggie women won the 2017 SEC Championship. Theil sits just tenths outside scoring range in both IMs. With over a year to go until she makes her collegiate debut Theil could develop into a conference scorer before her arrival in College Station.

She wrote in her announcement on CollegeSwimming,

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for Texas A&M University. Because of Coach Steve and Coach Tanica I will be able to reach my full potential not only as an athlete but a student as well. Gig ‘Em!!”
