UNIVERSITY of Nebraska head swimming coach, Cal Bentz, and three assistant coaches have been suspended indefinitely, pending an internal investigation of possible NCAA rules violations, according to Chris Anderson, an official in the school's Sports Information department.
In addition to Bentz, assistant coaches Keith Moore, Rick Paine and Kelly Nordeau have been suspended.
Though Ms Anderson would not provide additional information on the alleged offenses, it is believed that the investigation is focused on possible recruiting violtions. In recent years, Nebraska has recruited top international stars, particularly from South Africa, for its teams.
Paul Nelson has been named interim head coach during the investigation.
