NCSA Finalist Hudson Williams Lends 2023 Verbal to NC State Wolfpack
NEW COMMIT: NC State University has picked up a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2023 from Hudson Williams of Powell, Ohio.
He will join Henry Lee, JR Taylor, Mitchell Ledford, Sam Flack and Will Heck in Raleigh as a member of the Wolfpack’s Class of 2027.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at NC State University! I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for helping me throughout my journey. Can’t wait to be part of the Wolfpack family! Go Pack!!”
Williams, who trains year-round with New Albany Aquatics Club, placed fifth in the 200m IM at Richmond Futures this past summer where he also finaled in four different events. Back in March, he posted six top-16 finishes at the NCSA Championships where his highest finish was a fourth-place showing in the 200 IM.
His best times include:
- 200 IM – 1:48.34
- 100 back – 48.57
- 50 back – 22.32
- 50 free – 20.91
- 100 free – 44.97
- 100 breast – 56.39
- 400 IM – 3:56.34
Currently a junior at Olentangy Liberty High School, Williams placed second in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast as a sophomore at the Ohio State Championships.
Under head coach Braden Holloway, NC State finished second at the 2021 ACC Championships and eighth at the NCAA Championships.
