NCSA Finalist Elle Braun of Upper Dublin Aquatic Club Selects Wisconsin for 2020
NEW COMMIT: The University of Wisconsin has earned a new verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from Oreland, Penn. native Elle Braun.
Braun, who swims year-round with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club, owns a pair of Winter Juniors standards and most recently won the 500 free and mile at Middle Atlantic Seniors where she also earned seven lifetime bests. Last summer, she notched four best times and registered a seventh-place showing in the 400m free at NCSAs.
Also competing for Upper Dublin High School, Braun has earned NISCA All-American honors and is a six-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. She was the 500 free runner-up and took fourth in the 200 free as a junior after placing seventh and 10th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin! Thank you so much for all the support from my family, teammates, and coaches for getting me to this point! Can’t wait for the next 4 years!! Go Badgers!!”
Her best times include:
- 200 free – 1:49.57
- 500 free – 4:51.00
- 1000 free – 9:59.55
- 1650 free – 16:48.82
- 100 back – 57.71
- 200 back – 2:03.25
Braun will add valuable depth to Wisconsin’s mid-distance and distance freestyle group when she suits up for the Badgers as a member of the class of 2024. She’s just on the brink of scoring range at the Big Ten Championships and will have one year of overlap with top returning distance swimmer Madison Waechter.
