NEW COMMIT: U.S. Open qualifier Cade Duncan of Spring, Texas has verbally committed to Northwestern University and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2023.

His older brother, Caleb Duncan, is a senior sprinter at Louisville.

He told Swimming World:

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Northwestern University! I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who supported me throughout this process; I would not have made it this far without them. I’m excited to be able to join a great program and team! Go Cats!”

Duncan trains year-round with Dad’s Club Swim Team where he is a multi-time team record holder and team captain. He won the 50m/100m free at the NCSA Championships last month, also taking third in the 100m fly and fourth in the 50m back. He also raced the 100m free at Phillips 66 International Team Trials back in April.

Back in December, Duncan placed 13th in the 100 free at Juniors West before going on to post a trio of top-8 finishes at Austin Sectionals.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.34
  • 100 free – 44.00
  • 200 free – 1:38.88
  • 100 fly – 48.78
  • 100 back – 49.55

Duncan will be starting his senior year at The Kincaid School in Houston this fall.

He’s a great get for the Wildcats: His top 50 free time would’ve ranked third on their lineup last season and he would’ve been No. 5 in the 200 free and No. 6 in the 50 free/100 fly/100 back.
