NEW COMMIT: Lees-McRae College has received an in-state verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Stephen Bandy of Rocky Mount, N.C.
He told Swimming World:
“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to Lees McRae College! I would like to thank my coaches, family, and friends that helped me get to where I am! Go Bobcats!”
Bandy does his club swimming with TAC Titans and recorded five best times at an intrasquad meet in August after racing three events at Cary Sectionals in March. Last summer, he had a strong showing at the TAC LCM Closeout where he achieved seven best times and posted six top-5 finishes.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 22.04
- 100 free – 48.43
- 200 free – 1:47.04
- 100 back – 54.18
- 100 fly – 54.07
Also competing for the Faith Christian School, Bandy is a six-time NCISAA State Championship finalist. He won the 100 free and collected bronze in the 100 back as a junior while taking fourth in the 100 free and third in the 200 free during his sophomore season.
When he suits up for the Bobcats as a member of the Class of 2025, Bandy will make a big impact in a number of different events.
