NCAP’s Philip Manoff Verbally Commits to Virginia Tech
NEW COMMIT: Philip Manoff has elected to swim for Virginia Tech beginning next fall, sending his verbal commitment to the Hokies. Manoff is a senior from Battlefield High School and swims for Nation’s Capital Swim Club.
Manoff told Swimming World,
“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Virginia Tech. I can’t say enough about the coaching staff, the team and the spirit of the VT Campus. So proud to be part of the Hokie Nation!!”
Manoff’s best SCY times are:
- 50 Free – 21.14
- 100 Free – 46.22
- 200 Free – 1:40.15
- 500 Free – 4:29.39
- 100 Back – 50.21
- 100 Fly – 49.29
- 200 Fly – 1:49.11
- 400 IM – 4:00.09
Manoff ended his summer at NCSA Junior Nationals where he posted lifetime best times in the 50 (25.39), 100 (55.84), and 200 (2:02.54) butterfly as well as the 200 freestyle (1:52.94). He earned second swims in all of those, including a sixth place finish in the 200 fly and a seventh place 50 fly.
The two time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was successful last winter as well at the Virginia 6A high school state championships. There he finished runner up in the 500 free (4:29.39) in an All-American time. He also touched sixth in the 50 free.
Already verbally committed to the Hokies are Henry Cleasson, Dylan Eichberg, Ben Hicks, Alex Wright and Keith Myburgh.
