NCAA Releases 2019-20 Division I Swimming and Diving Qualifying Standards
The NCAA announced the A and B qualifying standards for the 2019-20 Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. The women’s meet will be held in Athens, Georgia while the men’s meet will be in Indianapolis, Indiana. The NCAA made the A standards quicker in every single event except the men’s 200 IM and women’s 200 back, which remained the same.
The men’s B cuts were all unchanged except for the men’s 200 free relay, which went down from a 1:18.11 to a 1:17.86. All of the women’s individual events B cuts were unchanged but all five relays were lowered.
Some of the notable changes in the A cuts were that the women’s 100 free was lowered from a 47.35 to a 47.18, the women’s 200 IM went from a 1:54.31 to a 1:53.66, and the women’s 100 breast went from a 58.79 to a 58.60.
The biggest jump in the men’s A cuts was in the 1650 as the 2020 A cut is now a 14:37.31 compared to the 14:39.56 in 2019.
