The NCAA announced the A and B qualifying standards for the 2018-19 Division I Swimming and Diving Championships that will both be held in Austin, Texas. The NCAA made the A standards quicker for most of the events with the exception of the men’s 200 breast, women’s 500 free and the women’s 1650 free which remained the same.

All of the B standards increased dramatically with the exception of the women’s 1650 which again remained the same.

Some of the most notable drops of the B standards were in the men’s IM events which went from 1:49.09 to 1:46.77 and 3:54.49 to 3:51.46; a huge increase compared to the rest of the men’s events.

The women’s B cuts saw a couple more big drops, the 200 breast being the biggest which went from a 2:15.99 to a 2:13.97. Other big drops, for instance were in the 100 back going from a 55.09 to a 53.76, and the 200 back going from a 1:59.19 to a 1:57.11.
