NCAA Men’s Championships: Andrew Capobianco Wins Third Title on 3-Meter Diving

The 2023 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships continued with the 3-meter diving final on Friday night from Minneapolis.

Indiana diver Andrew Capobianco claimed his third title on 3-meter with a stunning score of 522.60.

“It is my last 3-meter, so it meant a lot to bring that one home. I got a personal best as well and that made it really special,” Capobianco said. “I had a little trouble getting locked in tonight, but once we started, my nerves settled in and that is when I am at my best.”

It was part of a banner event for the Hoosiers, going 1-3-4 with Quentin Henninger (425.40) and Carlson Tyler (415.50).

“It was amazing. It is so special knowing I am leaving the program to amazing male divers, and more to come,” Capobianco said. “They push me in training every day.”

USC sophomore Wang Shangfei finished second with 448.30 points.

Ohio State’s Lyle Yost finished fifth, followed by Tennessee junior Bryden Hattie (395.90), Columbia senior Jonathan Suckow (388.30) and Texas junior Noah Duperre (383.80).

But it was Capobianco that put the stamp on his career with a victory.
