NC State’s Hennessey Stuart Downs ACC Record in 200 Back
ATLANTA – Louisville and NC State both had a strong morning, but Wolfpack swimmer Hennessey Stuart put up the top swim of the morning with an ACC record in the 200 back.

NC State freshman Hennessey Stuart took down the conference and meet records in the 200-yard back this morning with a swift 1:39.73.
That swim eclipsed Colin Higgins’ 2014 conference record of 1:40.10 set at NCAAs last year, and downed Stephen Coetzer’s meet record of 1:40.53 from last year’s conference meet.
Virginia Tech’s Robert Own (1:41.45) and Louisville’s Aaron Greene (1:41.89) both cleared 1:42 to round out the top three.

Georgia Tech’s Andrew Kosic (42.30) and NC State’s Simonas Bilis (42.45) both cleared the NCAA A cut in the 100 free this morning.
NC State’s freestyle group continued to push the Wolfpack to the ACC team title with Ryan Held (42.53), David Williams (42.82) and Soeren Dahl (43.27) going 3-4-7 to give NC State four into the A final.

Louisville had a big event with four swimmers making the finale.
Thomas Dahlia topped prelims with a 1:54.74, while Addison Bray checked in second with a 1:55.29.
Carlos Claveria (1:55.51) and Todd Owen (1:56.70) went 4-7 to close out a strong event for the Cardinals.

NC State’s Christian McCurdy led the way in the 200 fly prelims with a 1:42.51, while Florida State’s Connor Knight joined him under 1:43 with a second-place 1:42.92. Virginia Tech’s Morgan Latimer rounded out the top three in 1:43.28.
