NC State Picks Up 2020 Verbal Commitment from NOVA’s Megan Pulley
NEW COMMIT: Glen Allen, Va. native and high school junior Megan Pulley has recently announced her verbal commitment to NC State as a member of the class of 2024.
Pulley does her club swimming with NOVA of Virginia Aquatics and owns five Winter Juniors cuts. She most recently competed at the NOVA LCM Winter Invite where she won the 100m fly en route to achieving the 2020 Olympic Trials cut after placing 16th in that event at Juniors East. She concluded her long course season with a silver medal in the 50m fly and a bronze in the 100m fly at NCSAs after winning the latter at Virginia LCM Seniors last summer. Also competing for Deep Run High School, Pulley is a four-time Virginia 5A State Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 100 fly and fifth in the 50 free as a sophomore after finishing ninth in both the 100 fly and 200 free during her freshman season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am so honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swim career at NC State University! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for your support on this amazing journey. I cant wait to train with this awesome team and coaching staff! Go Pack!!”
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 54.09
- 200 fly – 2:02.44
- 50 free – 23.41
- 100 free – 50.80
- 200 free – 1:50.38
Even with 1.5 years of club swimming still to go before suiting up for the Wolfpack, Pulley would’ve scored in the C-final of the 100 fly at the 2018 ACC Championships – an event where NC State only had one scorer in, so Pulley will add immediate depth to their fly group when she arrives in Raleigh.
