NBC to Premiere Michael Phelps Documentary to Mark 100 Days to Tokyo Olympics
NBC will premiere a new Michael Phelps documentary, “Michael Phelps: Medals, Memories & More,” on April 14 to mark 100 days until the start of the Tokyo Olympics.
The three-part documentary will stream exclusively for free on Peacock, NBC Universal’s streaming platform. The series will include reflections from Phelps and NBC commentators Rowdy Gaines and Dan Hicks, discussing each of Phelps’ Olympic races.
The trailer is available here:
The three installments of the series are
- “Greatness Begins,” looking at his Olympic debut at age 15 at the 2000 Sydney Games
- “Eight Golden Races,” reviewing his record-setting journey through the 2008 Beijing Olympics
- “London to Lasting Legacy,” describing his last two Olympics and the lead up to retirement
“The opportunity to revisit each of my Olympic races with Rowdy Gaines and Dan Hicks was filled with a lot of laughs and emotions,” Phelps said in a press release. “The sport of swimming has come a long way over the years, and I’m excited to share some memories and insights from my Olympic career as the world looks forward to the upcoming Tokyo Games this summer.”
The Michael Phelps documentary follows on the heels of a Ryan Lochte documentary launched last year.
