Nation’s Capital Swim Club’s Molly Watts Lends Verbal to Drexel
NEW COMMIT: Drexel University has scored a new verbal commitment from Molly Watts of Paeonian Springs, Pa. who will suit up for the Dragons as a member of the class of 2024.
Watts swims year-round with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and capped off her long course season with a pair of best times at Potomac Valley LCM Seniors this past summer. Last winter, she placed ninth in the 200 free and 10th in the 400 IM at Potomac Valley SCY Seniors before going on to earn a trio of lifetime bests at NCSAs.
Also competing for The Madeira School, Watts is a six-time VISAA Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 200 IM and seventh in the 500 free as a junior after taking sixth in both of those events during her sophomore season. When she arrives on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season, Watts will add her talents to a training group led by Megan Sicinski and Gabrielle Rudy.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:06.19
- 400 IM – 4:30.79
- 100 fly – 58.96
- 200 free – 1:55.76
- 500 free – 5:12.07
She told Swimming World:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Drexel University. As soon as I stepped on campus I knew that this was the place I want to spend my next 4 years. Go Dragons!”
