National Junior Teamer Lilla Bognar Pledges 2025 Verbal to Florida

NEW COMMIT: The University of Florida has landed a big verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Olympic Trials qualifier Lilla Bognar of Travelers Rest, South Carolina.

She will join Grace Raab and Lynsey Bowen in Gainesville as a member of the Gators’ Class of 2029.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my athletic and academic career at the University of Florida! I’d like to thank my family, coaches, friends and teammates for helping me reach this point. I can’t wait to swim with my best friends. GO GATORS!”

A member of the U.S. National Junior Team, Bognar placed fourth in the 400m IM at the FINA World Junior Championships back in September. She also placed fourth at Phillips 66 Nationals this past summer.

In December 2022, she was the Juniors East champion in the 400 IM, also placing second in that event at the NCSA Spring Championships.

She trains year-round with Team Greenville and owns the fastest 400 IM time in her class.

Her best times include:

  • 400 IM – 4:05.50 (best in class)
  • 200 back – 1:53.29
  • 100 back – 53.63
  • 200 IM – 1:58.09
  • 200 free – 1:46.68
  • 500 free – 4:45.39
  • 1650 free – 16:39.34

Currently a junior at Eastside High School, Bognar has won the 100 back and 200 IM at the South Carolina 4A State Championships each of her three years so far.

Bognar’s a huge get for the Gators, as her top 400 IM time is already fast enough to score in the A-final at the NCAA Championships.
