Nathan Adrian Smokes 100 Free Field at Santa Clara Pro Series

Men’s 100 Free

Cal’s Nathan Adrian delivered some powerful outside smoke to claim victory in the men’s 100 free. Adrian made his move following the halfway mark, edging up from lane two to post a dominant victory of 48.55. His time sits close to his 2017 best of 48.18 from the Mesa stop of the arena Pro Swim Series, a time that has earned him fourth in the world rankings for 2017.

Caeleb Dressel of Florida dashed to a second place finish of 49.26, finishing just ahead of Michael Jensen. Jensen stopped the clock at a close 49.35 for the bronze.

Russian Olympian Vladimir Morozov picked up fourth-place finish of 49.40 after a three-way tie for eighth narrowly earned him a spot in the ‘A’ final.

Marcelo Chierighini grabbed fifth overall with a 49.47, followed by Frederico Grabich’s 49.65.

Yuri Kisil (49.98), Maxime Rooney (50.06), and Conor Dwyer (50.58) were seventh through ninth respectively.
