Three-time Olympian Natalie Coughlin held a press conference at Olympic Trials this afternoon to announce that she was pulling out of the 50 freestyle.
Coughlin finished eighth in the 100 back earlier in the week in Omaha and missed out on the final of the 100 free Thursday.
Coughlin has won a record-tying 12 Olympic medals and has won one in every single Olympic race she has participated in. But she will not be in Rio this summer and will not add to that tally.
More to come.
