MWC Championship Psych Sheet Released
By Taylor Brien, Swimming World College Intern
The psych sheet for the Midwest Conference (MWC) Swimming and Diving Championship meet has been released. Last year the Grinnell women were able to hold on to the championship title for a second year, while the Lake Forest men edged out the Grinnell men for their first time since 2002.
This year’s championship meet should be even more exciting with several new faces competing for the top scoring spots. Adding to the excitement of the 2015 Championship meet is a slight modification in scoring and placement.
In previous years the top 16 swimmers for each event returned in the evening to swim, however this year it was voted on to increase the placements from top 16 to top 18. This change is because there are currently nine swimming and diving teams in the MWC and, therefore, there are nine ‘A’ relays that compete in the evening.
In order to meet compliance rules there needed to be nine individuals in both the finals and consolation heats to match the nine relay teams. This increase in scoring placement is sure to add to the excitement of the championship meet as more individuals have the ability to grab points.
Be sure and watch for the five races you don’t want to miss at the MWC Championship! And follow the action LIVE.
