Kathryn Nicholson has given her verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. The Mount Lebanon High School senior is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and swims for Mount Lebanon Aquatic Club.
Her best times are:
- 50 Free 23.67
- 100 Free 52.15
- 200 Free 1:54.80
Mount Lebanon Coach Tom Donati shared, “She looks forward to the great academics and coaching staff Alabama has to offer. ROLL TIDE!”
As a sophomore at the 2015 Pennsylvania AAA state championships Nicholson turned in an eighth place 50 yard freestyle. Now Nicholson is a half second out of 2016 Southeastern Conference scoring range in the 50. Temarie Toley led Alabama’s sprint group last year. She’ll be a senior when Nicholson moves to Tuscaloosa in the fall. That training group will also include Morgan Fleming, Lindsay Morrow, and Hannah Muser.
The Alabama men’s Class of 2021 also grew in the last week with verbal commitments coming from Michael Burris and Sam Disette.
