Shields gives a retrospective of his performances at the Pan Pacific championships and the World Cup. In Australia, he was disqualified in the prelims of the 200 fly, and he talks about how it affected his 100 fly and how Team USA dealt with the weather. Shortly after Pan Pacs, he went to the World Cup in the Middle East, where he netted $30,000 in race winnings and reset his American record in the 200 fly. Those winnings are helping him and his fiancee with their upcoming wedding, and Shields says getting engaged this summer gave him a bit of a boost with his swimming.
