Molly Hannis threw down a personal best in the women’s 100-meter breast to break the meet record at the 2016 Geneva International

Hannis clocked a 1:06.47.  That swim clipped her previous best of 1:06.60 from the Dubai stop of the 2015 World Cup that ranked her eighth in the world last year.

Notably, she also smoked the meet record of 1:10.15 set by Elisa Celli back in 2014, and finished less than a second behind the January record of 1:05.71 set by Leisel Jones back in 2006. Hannis’ time still stands as the second-fastest 100-meter breast in January ever, clearing the 1:06.75 clocked by Katie Meili at the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series last week.

Constance Dean (1:11.65) and Lisa Mamie (1:12.09) finished a distant second and third today in the 100 breast.

Nils Liess downed the meet record in the men’s 200-meter free with a 1:50.33.  That swim cleared the 1:50.39 set by Samuel Pizzetti back in 2009.  Laszlo Cseh finished second in 1:50.46 with Alex Haldemann earning third in 1:50.77 in what was a close finish.

Damir Dugonjic cleared the meet record in the men’s 100-meter breast with a 1:01.69. That swim beat his previous mark of 1:02.57 set in prelims.  Brad Craig (1:03.32) and Jolann Bovey (1:04.90) took second and third.

Zsuzsanna Jakabos set the meet record in the women’s 200-meter fly with a 2:10.78.  That swim cut two seconds off Bridget O’Connor’s 2008 mark of 2:12.67.  Arianna Letrari (2:16.68) and Eleonora Beghi (2:23.36) took second and third.

Cseh returned from the 200-meter free to win the men’s 200-meter fly in a meet-record time of 1:57.37.  That effort wiped out the 1:59.71 set by Liess last year.  Liess took second in 2:00.29 with Lounis Khendriche earning third in 2:05.24.

Madison Kennedy thumped her prelims meet record of 25.29 in the women’s 50-meter free with a 24.94 to win the finale.  Jakabos placed second in 25.69 with Sasha Touretski claiming third in 26.10.

Maria Ugolkova topped the women’s 200-meter free in a time of 2:01.85.  Kate Ziegler hit the wall second in 2:02.04 with Hannah Burvill finishing third in 2:02.52.

Alex Froissart won the women’s 100-meter back in 1:04.93.  Emily Cutler (1:05.02) and Seraina Sturzennegger (1:06.68) placed second and third.

Maxence Orange topped the men’s 100-meter back in 57.73 with Thierry Bollin taking second in 57.86.  James McFadzen finished third in 58.20.

Andrey Grechin clocked a 22.85 to win the men’s 50-meter free.  Vlad Popov (23.05) and Nicolas Zoulalian (23.59) took second and third.

You do have a GREAT breast stroke. Now you have a goal! Me on the other hand, my WORST stroke by far. 🙂
