GREENSBORO- Missy Franklin made her NCAA debut in the 200 IM today at her final NCAAs. She proved herself capable of a 33-second breaststroke split and won with a 1:52.11. She loved getting to race while being “flanked by her teammates” Celina Li and Elizabeth Pelton. Here she talks to Swimming World about being confident going into her much-anticipated 200 free duel versus Simone Manuel tomorrow and how much she cherishes the college swimming experience.
“…made her NCAA debut today at her final NCAAs.” ???
Erin Braden Goss for Zoe
Yes, she made her debut in the 200 IM…she’s never swum it at NCAAs before. And this is her last meet as a collegiate swimmer.
Way to go Missy
Natural!
Great interview with Missy… incredible swimmer but the poise she displays will take her further than the pool ever will. An example of a young person that is not only a great athlete but also displays the character worthy of being a role model.
