Missouri Swimming and Diving Dominates Day One At Mizzou Invitational

COLUMBIA – The University of Missouri swimming and diving teams lead the men’s, women’s and combined team standings after day one of the Mizzou Invitational, thanks to wins in 11 of the events contested tonight at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
The Tigers picked up wins in both of the 200 free relays to start the meet, with the women’s team posting a 1:29.36 and the men touching in 1:17.64. Katharine Ross (1:58.27) and Mack Darragh (1:45.50) each contributed a win in the 200 IM, while Dani Barbiea (100 fly, 51.97), Eegan Groome (500 free, 4:19.56), Rachel Hayden (50 free, 22.67), Lauren Reedy (3-meter diving, 358.65) and Thomas Clark (1-meter diving, 367.40) all contributed individual wins as well. Missouri swept both 400 medley relays to close out the night, with the women touching in 3:32.60 and the men posting a 3:10.11.
Illinois’ Gabbie Stecker picked up a win in the 500 free (4:46.99), while West Virginia got a win from Andrew Marsh in the 100 fly (47.49). UNLV’s Dillon Virva topped the men’s 50 free by .03 in 19.56.
