ST. PETERS, Missouri, November 16. ROCKHURST won its sixth consecutive state title at the Missouri Boys High School State Championships. Glendale and Chaminade followed with scores of 123.5 and 121 respectively.
Rockhurst won all three relays. Jonathon Benson, Jack Rund, Matthew Benson, and Jacob Gansert won the 200 medley relay (1:37.41). J. Benson also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.48.
Senior Mick White (Rockhurst) won the 200 freestyle (1:39.54) and the 100 butterfly (50.34).
Central’s Albert Lloyd was a dual event winner in the 200 IM (1:52.77) and the 100 breaststroke (57.30).
Matthew Margritier (Rockhurst) won the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.93. He teamed up with M. White, Neil White, and Gansert for a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. The group set a state record with a time of 1:24.62.
Other first-place finishers include Niklas Brinck (Nixa) and Andrew Kilkenny (Parkway South). Brinck won the 100 freestyle (45.68) and Kilkenny won the 500 freestyle (4:35.08).
Hickman’s David Bonuchi won the diving competition with a score of 541.35. Ford McLiney of Rockhurst and Mitch Harris of Marquette took second (532.20) and third (398.90) respectively.
White, J. Benson, M. Benson, and Margritier set a state record in the 400 freestyle relay (3:05.14).
