Miron Lifintsev Goes 52.34 In 100 Back To Set World Junior Record At Russian Championships

Miron Lifintsev set a world junior 100 back record of 52.34 at the Russian Swimming Championships in Kazan.

The 18-year-old split 25.34/27.00 to eclipse the previous WJR of 52.53 held by fellow Russian Kliment Kolesnikov at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow.

Lifintsev’s time is the sixth-fastest performance by a Russian topped by Kolesnikov’s 51.82 national record at last year’s Russian National Swimming Cup final with Evgeny Rylov and his 52.12 at the 2021 national championships the only other man to surpass him in the domestic rankings.

Kolesnikov was second in 52.80.
