MiKayla Herich of the Northern Kentucky Clippers has announced her verbal commitment to swim at Ohio University. Herich becomes the third member of the Kentucky club to commit in the past week. She’s a versatile swimmer and will bring a variety of strengths to Athens. She should fit right towards the top in the long free, breaststroke, and IM races.

Herich is poised to make an instant impact on Rachel Komisarz–Baugh‘s Bobcat squad. Based on Ohio’s 2014-2015 top times, she would be the top IM swimmer on the team. She’s also would have had the fastest 200-yard breast time last season.
College swimming is nothing new to the Herich family. Her oldest sister, Carlie Herich, competed at Wheaton College and received All-Conference Honors and qualified for NCAA Championships. Her other sister, Lauren Herich, is a junior distance swimmer at the University of Louisville.
Ohio finished sixth at the 2015 MAC Championships, but the addition of Herich could level the playing field. Her times would’ve scored her top eight in multiple events.
Mikayla, keep working hard. The best is yet to come!
