Michigan’s Tristan Sanders took down the pool record in the 200-yard back with a time of 1:40.90. That performance downed the 1:41.22 set by Ohio State’s Andrew Elliott back in 2012.
Sanders has aways to go to track down Eric Ress’ 2014 meet record of 1:38.89, or even Tyler Clary’s conference mark of 1:37.58 from 2009.
Penn State’s Nate Savoy qualified second in 1:41.03, also under the previous pool record, while Rowan Williams led a trio of Ohio State Buckeyes into the A final with a third-seeded 1:41.59.

Michigan’s Bruno Ortiz continued his remarkable meet with another pool record. This time he raced to a 42.46 to down the 42.85 set by Ohio State’s Jason Schnur back in 2012.
Ortiz should give Shane Ryan’s conference and meet record of 42.08 from 2014 a run during finals.
Wisconsin’s Cannon Clifton qualified second in 42.73, while Indiana’s Blake Pieroni claimed third overall in 42.78. Ohio State’s Josh Fleagle (42.79) and Ryan (42.80) also cleared the pool record to set up what should be an amazing finale.

Funk has some time to drop to challenge Miller’s conference and meet record of 1:51.03 from 2013.
Indiana’s Tanner Kurz qualified second in 1:54.25 with Wisconsin’s Nick Schafer snaring third overall in 1:54.65.

That swim cleared the 1:42.67 set by Michigan’s Dan Madwed back in 2012.
