Michigan Swimming & Diving 2015-2016 Schedule Features Six Home Contests
The University of Michigan men’s and women’s swimming and diving program announced its 2015-16 competition schedule on Tuesday (Aug. 4), which features six competitions at Canham Natatorium, including the Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships (Feb. 17-20).
The men’s and women’s teams are entering their fourth season as a combined program and will have the majority of their meets together. Key competitions include a tri-meet against Penn State and Virginia (Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Canham Natatorium), a quad meet against Georgia Tech, Duke and Indiana (Jan. 16 in Atlanta, Ga.) and dual meets against rivals Ohio State (Jan. 30 in Columbus, Ohio) and Michigan State (Feb. 6 at Canham Natatorium).
At mid-season, the swimmers will compete at the AT&T Winter National Championships (Dec. 2-5 in Federal Way, Wash.), while select divers will be at the USA Diving Winter National Championships (Dec. 15-20 in Indianapolis, Ind.).
After the women’s team kicks off the postseason at home, the men’s team will attempt to capture its sixth consecutive Big Ten title at their own Big Ten Championships, held Feb. 24-27 in West Lafayette, Ind. The men’s and women’s NCAA Championships will take place in Atlanta on back-to-back weeks (March 17-19 for the women, March 24-26 for the men).
The competition schedule opens Friday, Oct. 2, at the MSU Outdoor Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
