NEW COMMIT: Canton, Mich. native Annette Dombkowski has announced her verbal to stay in-state and swim for Michigan State next fall.

Dombkowski swims year-round with Club Wolverine and has the Winter Juniors cut in the 800m free and 1500m free. She capped off her summer season at NCSAs where she finished ninth in the 800m free and 12th in the 400m free after placing third in the mile at Spire Sectionals. She raced three events at Juniors East last winter and was a five-time finalist at the MI Open State Championships.

Also competing for Mercy Catholic High School, Dombkowski is a five-time Michigan Division I State Championship finalist. The NISCA All-American finished fourth in the 500 free and sixth in the 200 free as a junior after placing seventh and 14th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Michigan state university!”

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:51.99
  • 500 free – 4:55.80
  • 1000 free – 10:07.32
  • 1650 free – 16:53.76

Dombkowski will make an immediate impact next year at Michigan State; her best 1000 and mile time would’ve ranked first on their lineup last season while her 500 would’ve sat in second. She will join Kasey Venn as a member of the class of 2023.
