Michigan Earns Commitment from Junior National 200 IM Bronze Medalist Ansel Froass
NEW COMMIT: Cincinnati, Ohio native Ansel Froass has officially committed to the University of Michigan and will arrive in Ann Arbor at the start of the 2020-21 season. He will add valuable depth to the Wolverines’ lineup next fall.
Primarily an IMer and breaststroker, Froass does his club swimming with Mason Manta Rays and owns a pair of Olympic Trials cuts. He earned bronze in the 200m IM this past summer at Junior Nationals where he also took ninth in the 100m breast with five lifetime bests. Last winter, he finished 12th in the 200 IM at Juniors East before going on to register three top-12 finishes at the Southern Premier Invitational.
Also competing for Sycamore High School, Froass is a five-time Ohio State Championship finalist. The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was the 200 IM runner-up and placed fourth in the 100 free during both his sophomore and junior seasons while taking ninth in the 200 IM as a freshman.
His best times include:

- 400 IM – 3:54.71
- 100 breast – 56.06
- 200 breast – 2:01.87
- 50 free – 20.98
- 100 free – 45.22
