A talented breaststroker and IMer, Laurde does his club swimming with Summit City Aquatics and owns the Olympic Trials cut in the 200m breast with four additional U.S. Open standards. A current junior at Homestead High School, Luarde is a four-time Indiana State Championship finalist. He also had a strong showing at Mount Hood Futures last summer where he had three top-12 finishes.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m honored to announce my commitment to the University of Michigan. Thank you to my parents and brothers, Sébastien and Lorenzo, for sacrificing and supporting me on this decade-long journey. Thanks to my Westview Wolverines high school team, as well as my RSD club teammates, coach Joe Benjamin, and the entire coaching staff for challenging me to be my best every day.
