Michigan Adds Hannah Bellard, Anna Boemer, Taylor Morris, Mattea Sokolow to Class of 2023
NEW COMMITS: The University of Michigan has received four verbal commitments for the 2023-24 season and beyond from Hannah Bellard, Anna Boemer, Taylor Morris, and Mattea Sokolow.
HANNAH BELLARD
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Michigan! A big thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me through this process!! Go blue!”
Bellard is from Grosse Ile, Michigan, and is a member of the U.S. National Junior Team. She does her club swimming with Club Wolverine and competed at Olympic Trials this past summer before going on to win the 400m/800m free at Huntsville Futures. She attends Grosse Ile High School and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

- 500 free – 4:41.24
- 200 back – 2:00.66

ANNA BOEMER
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Michigan! Thank you to my friends, family and coaches who made this dream possible! GO BLUE!!!”
A native of Reading, Massachusetts, Boemer trains year-round with SOLO Aquatics and attends Reading Memorial High School. She competed at Olympic Trials and placed 13th in the 100m fly at the Speedo Summer East Championships. She also earned bronze in that event at Richmond Futures.

TAYLOR MORRIS
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the University of Michigan! This is really a dream come true and I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their constant support. I would also like to thank the coaching staff at Michigan for giving me such an amazing opportunity! I can’t wait to join such a great team! GO BLUE”
Swimming for TAC Titans, Morris raced to eighth in the 100m back at Huntsville Futures this past summer after finaling in two events at Greensboro Sectionals. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native is a junior at Needham B. Broughton High School and earned bronze in the 100 back at the NC 4A State Championships as a sophomore.

MATTEA SOKOLOW
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to swim and study at the University of Michigan! I would like to thank my parents, coaches and friends for helping me get to the place I am today. I would also like to thank the coaching staff at Michigan for this amazing opportunity, and I can’t wait to be a wolverine. Go blue!!”
Sokolow does her club swimming with Team Santa Monica and was a five-time finalist at Santa Clarita Futures this summer where her highest finish was a fourth-place showing in the 200m back. She also won the 1500m free at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup – Irvine. She lives in Santa Monica, California, and attends Santa Monica High School where she is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
