Michael Phelps, 22-time Olympic medalist and soon-to-be new dad, will appear on NBC’s The Today Show tomorrow (4/27). Host Matt Lauer and Phelps talk openly about the past, present, and future, as well as the good and the bad, as the countdown to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio dwindles down. The interview digs deep into Phelps’ past as the two discuss the reaction Phelps’ mom, Debbie, had to his DUI arrest and more.
To mark the 100th day until the Olympic Games begin in Rio The Today Show will be throwing a Rio Celebration featuring their interview of Phelps, catching up with how the Rio Olympic grounds are coming along, and more a beach party in New York.
The sneak peak can be viewed at today.com’s website.
While training for his fifth Olympic Games Phelps turned in wins in the 200 IM (1:57.90) and 200 fly (1:58.14) at the Mesa stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.
