It might not have been his best time at this point in the season, but Michael McBroom still managed to hold off a pair of top swimmers in Connor Jaeger and Ous Mellouli for the 800 free win.

McBroom, a distance specialist, is hoping to do well in the 200 free later this weekend in hopes of proving that he can start to focus on that event as well.
