Michael Chadwick Relives Breakout Summer – Video Interview
A year ago, few expected Michael Chadwick to be among the top sprinters in the country so soon, but that’s exactly what he has become. At U.S. Nationals in San Antonio, Chadwick finished fourth in the 50 free in 22.03 and fifth in the 100 free, clocking 49.41. Earlier in the summer at Athens Sectionals, Chadwick had swum a 48.87 in the 100 free, almost two seconds better than his lifetime best just 12 months ago.
The morning after he wrapped up his meet, Chadwick sat down with Swimming World’s David Rieder to discuss the season he just completed. Chadwick described how exciting the past several weeks have been as he broke onto the national stage. He also spoke of the experience training with SwimMAC Team Elite this summer in Charlotte and accompanying them to the Mare Nostrum meets in Europe and how he will carry that back to the University of Missouri in the fall.
