Michael Andrew grabbed his second event win of the night in the 50 free, taking .02 from his prelims swim to finish as the only man under 22 seconds in the final (21.94). That is a season best for Andrew and has him ranked #2 so far in the world behind Great Britain’s Ben Proud.
In second was Caeleb Dressel, who also dropped from his prelims time to finish in 22.08. Dressel was coming off a win in the 100 fly from earlier in the session. Rounding out the podium in third was Ali Khalafalla (22.33).
