19-year-old Michael Andrew completed his tight double on Thursday night at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines with a 24.94 in the 50 back final, just a short time after winning the 100 breast earlier in the night. Andrew is showing that his 2018 breakout year was not a fluke and he is off to a good start thus far in 2019. Andrew will be on the World Championship team later this summer for Team USA.
Andrew finished ahead of Grigory Tarasevich (25.16) and Jacob Pebley (25.30) as they were second and third.
Ryan Held (25.54), Ryosuke Irie, 25.56), Guilherme Basseto (25.74), Christopher Reid (25.75) and Nicholas Pyle (25.76) also competed in the final.
