Micah Davis, Minnesota State Record Holder, Chooses UVA For 2026

NEW COMMIT: The University of Virginia has landed an impressive verbal commitment for Fall 2026 from Micah Davis of Clearwater, Minnesota, who is one of the top recruits in the Class of 2030.

He currently owns the fastest time in his class in the 100 fly with a time of 46.94.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the university of Virginia! Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way, including my family, friends, and every coach who has helped me throughout the years. Thank you to the coaches down at Virginia for giving me this opportunity, and thank you god! GO HOOS”

Davis currently trains with Aquajets Swim Team. At the NCSA Spring Championships in March, he placed seventh in the 50m fly and ninth in the 100m fly. He raced to eighth place in both the 100 fly and 200 fly at Juniors West last December.

His best times include:

  • 100 fly – 46.94
  • 200 fly- 1:46.38
  • 50 free – 20.88
  • 100 free – 45.43
  • 200 free – 1:36.74

Currently a junior at St. Cloud Tech High School, Davis won the 100 fly and 200 free at the Minnesota Class AA State Championships during both his freshman and sophomore seasons. His best 100 fly time of 46.94 came at the 2024 state meet, which set a new state record.

Davis is the first public verbal commitment on the men’s side for the Cavaliers. Davis will overlap for three years with UVA’s loaded Class of 2025, which includes Olympic butterflier Thomas Heilman.
