Miami Ohio RedHawks Receive Verbal from Upper Saint Clair Swim Club’s Taylor Connors
NEW COMMIT: Pittsburgh, Pa. native Taylor Connors has handed Miami University of Ohio a new verbal commitment to join their class of 2025.
She will join Lauren Murray, Emily Rinker, and Maggie Stock in Oxford at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Miami University!! I’d like to thank my coaches, family, and friends for their support. I’m so thankful to be able to join such an amazing team! ❤️?#LoveAndHonor”
A talented freestyler, Connors does her club swimming with Upper Saint Clair Swim Club and recorded four top-15 finishes at the TPIT Christmas Invite back in December. Last summer, she placed fifth in the 100m/200m free combo before going on to race four events at NCSAs.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.70
- 100 free – 51.66
- 200 free – 1:50.34
- 500 free – 5:08.88
- 100 fly – 57.57
Also competing for Upper Saint Clair High School, Connors has competed at the Pennsylvania 3A State Championships the last three years. She also won the 200 free and grabbed bronze in the 100 free as a junior at the WPIAL 3A Championships and placed 10th in the 100 free at the state meet.
She will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she suits up for Miami Ohio in the fall of 2021. Under head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron, the RedHawks finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 MAC Championships.
