Miami Hurricanes Sweep Up Verbal from New York State Record Holder Ariana Brattoli
NEW COMMIT: Little Neck, N.Y. native and Futures qualifier Ariana Brattoli will head to the Sunshine State next fall after giving her verbal pledge to the University of Miami.
Y.She will join Camille Weiss, Emily Grasso, Lucy Miller and Jacey Hinton as a member of the Canes’ class of 2025.
She told Swimming World:
“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at The University of Miami!! I would like to thank my coaches, family, and friends for helping me get to this point. I am so grateful to be able to join such an amazing team. GO CANES”
A talented breaststroker, Brattoli trains year-round with Empire Swimming and recorded six best times at the SGSA January Jump Start meet where she won the 50 breast. In summer 2019, she finaled in the 100m breast at Geneva Futures en route to notching three new lifetime bests.
Her best times include:
- 50 breast – 29.97
- 100 breast – 1:04.54
- 200 breast – 2:22.61
- 200 IM – 2:10.76
Also competing for Sacred Heart Academy, Brattoli has competed at the New York Federation Championships the last two seasons. As a junior, she finished 16th in the 100 breast and split a 29.37 on the winning 4×50 medley relay that broke the New York state record.
When she arrives on campus next fall, Brattoli will add her talents to a breaststroke group led by Zorry Mason and Andrea Todorovic.
